Abstract

Cariprazine is a novel antipsychotic, partial agonist of D3/D2 dopamine receptors with predominantly action on D3 receptors. High efficacy in treatment of schizophrenia including that with
predominant negative symptoms and good tolerability of cariprazine were established in several randomized controlled trials. Cariprazine doesn’t impair metabolism, doesn’t have an impact
on QT interval, doesn’t cause prolactin elevation. The drug can be used in treatment of adult patients with schizophrenia with positive and negative symptoms including those with high risk
of metabolic and cardiovascular complications.
