ВЛИЯНИЕ ФУНКЦИОНАЛЬНОЙ АСИММЕТРИИ НА ЭФФЕКТИВНОСТЬ ТЕРАПИИ ШИЗОФРЕНИИ

Abstract

The results of modern studies confirm the importance of assessing the individual profile of functional asymmetry in patients with schizophrenia, however, the question of the influence of lateralization on the effectiveness of the treatment of the disease remains under-researched. Materials and methods: 92 patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia were examined. The features of the individual profile of functional asymmetry of each patient were determined and the effectiveness of the conducted psychopharmacotherapy was evaluated. Results: Patients with a symmetric profile of functional asymmetry are characterized by a high frequency of exacerbations requiring psychiatric hospital readmissions, as well as a high incidence of extrapyramidal side effects. The superiority of the degree of asymmetry of motor functions over the auditory-speech ones with their general left hemispheric lateralization is a prognostically favorable factor in the effectiveness of therapy. Conclusions: Identifying the features of functional asymmetry may contribute to the personification of psychopharmacotherapy of schizophrenia.
