Abstract

This publication is intended as guidelines on diagnosis, differential diagnosis and treatment of patients in critical conditions associated with various types of impaired consciousness. The paper offers clinical descriptions of different variants of impaired consciousness as well as differentiated approaches to treatment and efficacy evaluation criteria. The guidelines are based on the authors’ professional experiences in the treatment of patients with psychiatric emergencies and also on Russian and international research on this subject.
