Generalized anxiety disorder with comorbid depression: case report
Abstract
This publication describes the clinical case of generalized anxiety disorder with comorbid depression, the dynamics of the development of the underlying disease and the accession of comorbid disorders, discusses the difficulties of diagnosis, differential diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities. This clinical case reflect the actual psychiatric practice, when patients suffering from generalized anxiety disorder, fall within the field of view of the psychiatrist at the time of the development of depressive symptoms, which covers and hides the symptoms of anxiety disorder, and core symptoms of generalized anxiety remains without attention and treatment. A significant prevalence of generalized anxiety disorder and the frequency of the accession of depression defines a significant number of such cases in practice, and calls attention to the accurate diagnosis to ensure effective treatment for prevention of patient’s social impairment.
