Abstract

The article summarizes the current data on the epidemiology of schizophrenia during gestation and the postpartum period, the impact of the disease on the course and outcome of pregnancy, and the impact of pregnancy on the course of diseases. Provides guidelines for planning and management of pregnancy in women with schizophrenia, discusses the benefits and risks of pharmacotherapy in pregnant and breastfeeding.
