Differentiated approach to the use of antidepressants

Abstract

In this article, based on a review of recent literature data and results of our own studies, the differential approach to the antidepressants choice and necessity of therapy personification are discussed. It is shown that data from randomized clinical trials and meta-analyses allow to differentiate the antidepressants of the new generation among themselves and in comparison with tricyclic antidepressants (TCA) first of all, on the spectrum of their somatotrophic actions, which can be one of the landmarks of the individual choice of the drug. Evidence about the effectiveness of certain antidepressants in clinically different variants of depression is not enough. An analysis of the results of our studies allows to establish the differences between the drugs in the spectrum of their thymoanaleptic action.
