Treatment of the Depressive Episode in the Rapid Cycling of Bipolar Disorder (Clinical Case)
Abstract
Timely diagnosis of bipolar disorder is currently still difficult in clinical practice. Due to the lack of awareness of doctors regarding the clinical picture of bipolar disorder, inadequate therapy occurs for a long time. This leads to the formation of rapid cycles and resistance to psychopharmacotherapy. The description of the clinical case clearly demonstrated the consequences of errors in the diagnosis and treatment of bipolar depression, and, as a consequence, a worsening of the prognosis of the disease. Also reviewed the effect of the use of lamotrigine and high doses of lurasidone with a positive effect, as one of the first-line drugs for the treatment of bipolar depression.
