RESTORATIVE POSSIBILITIES OF CONSTRUCTIVE ACTIVITY AND SELF-EFFICACIES BY MEANS OF MOTIVATIONAL TRAINING OF THOSE WHO SUFFERS FROM SCHIZOPHRENIA IN CONDITIONS OF PSYCHONEUROLOGICAL BOARDING SCHOOLS

Abstract

Relevance. In 2012, the Russian Federation ratified the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The most important principles of the Convention are the full and effective engagement and inclusion of people with disabilities in society, their acceptance as a component of human diversity and equality of opportunity. Due to the important goal of reforming the system of psychoneurological residential care facilities, scientific research on the psychological methods of socializing the patients living in residential care facilities through the activation and development of their psychological resources and social competencies is becoming particularly essential. Materials and methods. In 2008>2019, in three psychoneurological residential care facilities in Moscow five groups of motivational training were carried out, aimed at enhancing and developing the resources of social adaptation of schizophrenia patients. The total number of participants in each group varied from 8 to 10. The duration of training was 8 weeks. The study of effectiveness of motivational training involved 25 patients from 20 to 70 years old, 13 women and 12 men with secondary and higher education; the duration of disease was more than 5 years, diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizotypal and delusional disorders, psychopathic schizophrenia (F20-F29, F21.4 according to ICD>10). The study was conducted before and after training using self>evaluation techniques: the scale of social avoidance and distress - SADS (Watson D., Friend R.; adaptation V.V. Krasnova, A.B. Kholmogorova, 2011), the method of “Diagnostics of self>efficacy” (Maddux Dg. and Scheer M.; adapting A.V. Boyarintseva, 2011), the method of “Indicator coping strategies” (Amikhran D.; adaptation N.A. Sirota, V.M. Yaltonskiy, 1995), the method “Compliance” (Kholmogorova A.B., Rychkova O.V., 2013), the Feedback Questionnaire from training participants to the group trainer. The conducted study of effectiveness of motivational training showed that the proposed program contributes to positive changes in the motivational sphere of patients: the self> evaluation of effectiveness in interpersonal sphere has increased, the important constructive strategy of seeking social support is used oftener, likewise increases the willingness to cooperate with specialists and the intention to continue psychological work aimed at reintegration to society. Conclusions. Preliminarily, it can be concluded that the proposed original development of motivational training is effective for carrying out the task to increase the socializing resources of schizophrenia patients living in psychoneurological residential care facilities. The prospects of research work are to expand the selected subset, compare the results with control groups of patients who have not participated in the training, and also receive data on delayed results and real changes of the patients' social adaptation in a year time or more.
