Cognitive impairment in affective disorders. Evaluation approaches and possibilities of correction

Abstract

Patients with bipolar or unipolar depression often experience cognitive deficit persisting both in the acute state and during remission. The review examines opportunities of psychopharmacological influence upon cognitive disorders evidence in this cohort of patients. Approaches towards cognitive functioning diagnostics in affective disorders with taking into consideration the evidence based approach to the peculiarities of affective spectrum patients is also overviewed.
