Abstract
In this review the historical, clinical and therapeutic aspects of the basic methods of chronotherapy in affective disorders have been considered: bright light therapy, dark therapy, sleep deprivation and sleep phase shift. These methods are most commonly used in clinical practice in combination with each other or with other pharmacological, non-pharmacological treatment of affective disorders.
